So, I'm back after that unexpected hiatus. I didn't realize that the move was going to take so much time, but with apartment hunting, job hunting and the holidays, it was a crazy few months. We did enjoy a nice rest though and the move went well. We are both settled into our new jobs and getting unpacking done now.

Since things are getting back to normal, I found a moment to write this site update. For a while I didn't know what to say about the status of this site. Obviously the comic didn't come out on time and after a lot of thinking that project is going to be shelved for a while. I still want to do the comic, but my writer is going to be busy for a bit. We'll see if I can come up with another story on my own in the mean time. I have lots of ideas, just need to pick one and make the time for it. In the mean time, keep an eye out for new art on here as always. I have one piece right now that is just waiting to be colored. I also hope everyone likes the front-page flipbook for showing the new art pieces and extra info. I'm planning to use the flipbook tool to show and hold the comics one day.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and for those who know and celebrate Winter-een-mas, happy holiday to you too! I'll be celebrating with a week of Wii games, Oblivion, Guild Wars and maybe something new (the new Unreal Tournament 3 and Team Fortress 2 are on my shopping list).

Well apparently my guess of things quieting down in September was off. Way off frankly, since now its looking to be November. Work is still pretty busy and on top of all that we are trying to move. Soooo much to do. And all the while O3B gets seemingly forgotten. Well no worries. It may be slow going but things are still getting done.

You may have noticed the new template design is up. YAY! I still have a few graphics to finish and I need to put up the comic engine with some comic art, but that will be up soon too. A big thanks goes out to Xilocex of Totally Tech World and Purple Iris Design. We worked together on the complicated PHP coding for this template. Xilocex is a coding master and our new template is cutting edge.

Other updates to the site include the new Design Portfolio gallery. This gallery got put up so I have a place to show a sampling of my graphic design portfolio. Kind of a nice addition. Also I figured out a really neat and simple way for everyone to be able to download art from the gallery. Simply enter the gallery you are interested in and pick the images you want to download by using the drop down menu at the bottom of a picture's detailed view to add them to your "cart". Or you can add the entire gallery by selecting "Add to Cart" in the drop down menu while viewing the thumbnail level of the gallery. I'll be writing up some clearer instructions, probably with pictures, for later. For now, this feature is only available on the Design Portfolio gallery, but I plan on employing it on a new Desktop Art gallery soon. 

So other then all that, I'm just busy as usual. Maybe this weekend I can get the graphics done for the site and the comic engine. I've been working slowly on them in the evenings. At this time, I am planning to have things ready for the comic release date of Oct. 31st. I will let you know if anything changes.

Soooo... More time has gone by and things have been very very busy. My work is in crunch mode right now and I'm swamped so as usual my fun projects like this site have to be put on hold. Life should be quieting down sometime around September :P

In the mean time, I have been getting a few things done for the site. Awhile ago I put up a new art piece called Alpha Base. It was a pretty fun piece to do and I learned alot about doing a night sky. Check it out in the gallery. Also during this time I've found a really neat 3D book component that we are going to use for the comic. To properly display the comic full size the current site template is going to be updated into a one column layout. I'm working with Xilocex of Totally Tech World to accomplish this. And as always I'm slowly working my way through creating the art for the comic. Tracer197 has gotten the first batch of comics done so I have those and the whole introduction to do. I'm still planning to get the introduction up before the Oct. 31st comic release date, so be looking for that.

So I'm noticing a trend with my blog space. It seems like I've slipped into a once a month update schedule. Well life has been busy but I'm hoping to change that soon. In the mean time, I'm sure you'll be happy with what I've been doing with my time. I've been working with Tracer197 to create an introduction chapter to the comic. This chapter will be release before the October 31st date. I've finished the writing on this chapter and just yesterday we worked out the layout and what images are needed. Next I'll be diving into creating those images. I'm hoping to have the introduction chapter start appearing in July. I'll have a more concrete release date soon.

I've also been busy with the technology community Totally Tech World . The site is fully up now and I'm spreading the word. Check it out. Its full of great technology articles, how-to information, a cookbook, a forum, and other fun stuff to do.

Also in the works I have a new art piece just waiting to be colored. Its a science fiction image and its been a lot of fun to make.
